Aims, contents and method of the course

The lecture aims at presenting basic issues in world economics. While the theoretical part is kept short deliberately and focused on some standard models, the main part of the lecture deals with empirical-institutional description and analysis of international economic issues.

The content comprises:
Theoretical models: Protectionism verus Free Trade;
Competition of Locations; national and international environmental goods;
Regional economic integration; Rules Institutions for the world economy: WTO and UNCTAD
International financial markets; Summary
