Aims, contents and method of the course
Seminar: Present-day changes in glacier volume and glacial landforming processes around the worldPrerequisite: as designed for MSc Programme "Theoretical and Applied Geography" and Graduate Studies in Education.Themes and issues to be considered in the course: Are glaciers reliable indicators of climate change? Techniques to assess and monitor glacier changes; Evidence for present growth or recession of mid latitude and high latitude glaciers; Impact of glacier fluctuations on glacial erosion, transport and deposition. The course is organized in a seminar format with the objective to enable participants to develop sound, well-organized, and compelling communication skills, both written and spoken.Nature of examination: marks in the course will be based on written and oral performance during class time.ECTS credit points: 6.0
