Demographic theories, concepts and methods are presented and illustrated by historic and recent examples. A practical training complements the acquired methodological skills so that students gain the competence to elaborate demographic analyses of urban populations.
Emphasising the relevance of demographic challenges and potentials, special topics such as "Migration & Integration", "Labour Market Implications", "Human Capital" and "Social Diversity" will be addressed during the lecture.
