Aims, contents and method of the course
How to define development? How can development be measured? These questions have been dominating the development-discourse for more than half a century now, and the answers are still manifold. The main aim of the course is to analyse the endeavours by various disciplines to define development and their changing over time, as well as a critical and comparative evaluation of traditional and post-paradigmatic development theories. Special emphasis is also placed on the geographical contributions to interdisciplinary development research.
