- How does science function: Paradigms and research programs
- Epistemological positions and their relevance for scientific work
- How does new insight come into the world: Reasoning and their limits
- Observation, explanation, falsification/verification
- Ethics and morale as foundation of geographical research and teaching?We suggest, to combine this seminar with the working group ¿Basic concepts and world views of Geography¿.The seminar addresses students, above all diploma and PhD candidates of Physical Geography, Human Geography and Cartography. The seminar offers room for discussion, students are expected to read basic texts and prepare short presentations.
