Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course consists of 12 lecture units plus weekly readings, plus optional field visits. The taught course takes you through the history of urbanism and urban planning, from Ancient Rome to recent forms of collaborative planning. Themes will be illustrated with a large collection of slides, all to be uploaded on moodle. Examples will often be from Vienna, the 4 cities, and other European cities. Concerning the Vienna examples, you are strongly advised to visit iconic locations and exhibits yourself, alone, or with friends.

Assessment and permitted materials

90 minutes written final exam 27.6.2016 (80%), several short tests on compulsory readings (20%)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

2 major questions including a number of smaller questions have to be answered in detail. All short tests have to be uploaded on moodle on time.
