Aims, contents and method of the course

The excursion goes to the Gschliefgraben in Gmunden. In winter 2007/2008 a complex landslide was reactivated, leading to the evacuation of 55 houses. During the excursion the history of the Gschliefgraben, the scientific background of the most recent movements, aspects of natural risk management and the implemented and planned protection measures are addressed. Furthermore, the role of society is discussed in this context.
