Aims, contents and method of the course

In course of pursuing and analyzing the Leitmotif "Creative Class and the Creative City" a set of methodological concepts and skills will be imparted: Document Analysis, Mapping, Questionnaire Development, Data mining, Quantitative Methods, Qualitative Methods.
Modul 1: Defining the objective and Question of research - General reading
Definition of Question of Research - Specific Readings
Definition of research concept
Modul 2: Definging and elaborating a small scaled project - Surveys, analysis, interpretation
Modul 3: Presentation and discussion of the results

Assessment and permitted materials

Active participation of students, quality of empirical resarch and methods applied, presentation, paper

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students shall be able to define and operationalize a question of research and analyze it by an appropriate set of quantitative and qualitative methods. The students are enabled to vizualize spatial patterns by adequate means of mapping.

Examination topics

Ex-cathedra teaching will be mixed with exercices and team work.
