Aims, contents and method of the course
This course, designed as a work group, addresses students, above all diploma and PhD candidates of Physical Geography, Human Geography and Cartography. It aims at encouraging the discussion of and reflection on basic concepts and world views of geography. The course shall enable students to state their individual preference regarding epistemology and the philosophy of geography and point out the differences in positions diverging from their own. Each participant will have to give a short presentation including a critical discussion of key texts in the philosophy of geography.2 hour course, meeting every other week.
