Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
The assessment of the course includes active participation in the course (40%) and the elaboration of an own semester project (60%).
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
This seminar is exam-immanent, therefore active participation is required. It is important to note that attendance for at least 80% of the seminar time is necessary to meet the course requirements. This means that participants may miss a maximum of 20% of the total seminar time. Additionally, the timely submission of all assignments is part of the minimum requirements for the seminar. Please note that no compensatory tasks are provided for missed time or content. Continuous and committed participation in the seminar, as well as the timely submission of all required assignments, are crucial for the successful completion of the course.

The overarching goals of Open Minds II are to promote independence and strengthen 21st Century Skills such as creativity, communication ability, and collaboration, as well as developing strategies for the elaboration and presentation of scientific content and innovative formats of science communication. This is achieved through interactive course elements, group work, and individual projects. It also involves the participants engaging with their role after graduation and the question of how they can contribute to a more sustainable future.
