Aims, contents and method of the course
Participants will have to realise a GIS project in practice under the use of ArcGIS. Thereby, everything from project planning, data acquisition, database design, data integration, applying analysis etc., as well as visualizing the project results is part of the training. Students work in small groups afterwards and use their new knowledge to create their own projects. Hence, the students will have to evaluate their results in the real world project area.
Assessment and permitted materials
Cartographic presentation of the results and written report.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The students should be enabled to identify and record the complex interrelations in landscapes in the field. They will learn to map and describe these interactions.
Examination topics
Independently surveying in the field, mapping and describing the results in small working groups.
