Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course gives an introduction to the data acquisition and the data processing in climatology within the field of geography. This includes the basics of meteorological/climatological observational networks, meteorological instruments as well as statistical analyses and graphical treatment of climate data. Participants of the course will be qualified to perform scientific studies including analyses and graphical-treatment of climatological data by their own. To achieve that aim each participant will do two exercises which comprise the analyses of the climatological conditions of a region. Within each exercise the entire process starting from data sampling up to the final stage of presentation of results will be exercised. Moreover, a visit to the Central Institute of Meteorology and Geodynamics will introduce to the practical work of climatological/meteorological observation.
