Aims, contents and method of the course

Learning and applying of different basic principles in geomorphology are the main objectives of the course. The specified objectives of the course will be achieved by teaching different methods and applying these methods in tutorials.
The students are expected to apply these methods independently in small exercises. The course is based on the fundamental knowledge of geomorphology taught in the introduction course. Moreover the course is supported by the e-learning platform, where also a literature list is provided.
The methods in the course comprise a short theoretical introduction to the methods and in an extended practical tutorial. The content of the course is composed of geomorphologic, hydrological and morphometric aspects. Written exercises have to be completed for the different units.

Assessment and permitted materials

There will be an obligatory excursion which is necessary for the term paper. The mark encompasses the results of exercises, the term paper and a written exam.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Minimum requirements: Presence, written report; assessment scale: homework (20%), protocol (40%), written exam (40%)
