The lecture is focussed on the structural change of Austrian regions. The regional structure will be described on the basis of "economic regions", which represents a regional categorization of Austrian districts. The economic regions are the results of a Cluster analysis, in which geogrpahic and economic theories are applied to the regional situation of Austria. Comparative advantages and disadvantages are worked out in analyzing the conditions of competitiveness and dynamics of the Austrian regions. In addition the perspectives of future development and strategies of regional politics are discussed.ECTS credit points: 4.0
