Aims, contents and method of the course

Demographic, economic and social transformation processes in Southeast Asia: a geographical analysis.
Aim of this course is to discuss and analyze the characteristic demographic and socio-economic transformation processes in Southeast Asia during the second half of the 20th century and its spatial variations. Among the issues discussed are: economic and social change, changing regional disparities, development of transport and communication infrastructure, rapid urbanization and the revolutionary changes in Southeast Asia¿s demographic regime in the late 20th century
