Please Note: we plan to hold a Lab-week during which we can work on samples and methods. Therefore, we will reduce the number of appointments on Friday . As we are a small group of only max. 8 persons we will discuss the final dates as a group! However, we can use the Friday slots for voluntary group meetings and further discussions.

Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim of this course is to gain an overview of common laboratory methods in geoecology and to apply individual methods under supervision. In addition, the basics of sampling and preparation will be practiced. This course supports students in preparing their master's thesis in the field of geoecology.
Methods: theoretical input, practical laboratory and field work, presentation/discussion/defense of results

Assessment and permitted materials

Attendance on lab days, participation, discussion, and presentation of results.

Mandatory laboratory safety instruction must be successfully completed.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

- Attendance at mandatory appointments (to be determined in the first group session)
- active participation in the course (40 pt)
- attendance of mandatory laboratory safety instruction on Fr 24.10 13:30-14:00
- presentation and discussion of lab results (40 pt)
- upload of a short lab notebook (20 pt)

for a positive grade >50 pt are needed
