Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The seminar prepares students in the “Migration and Population Dynamics” Specialisation for their master’s thesis. In the seminar, the participants design a feasible, theoretically anchored, and methodologically sound Master thesis project. Participants learn about conceptualising, planning, writing, and defending a master’s thesis, and are familiarised with standards, requirements, and expectations.During the course, each student decides for a topic, develops a short sketch, and then a longer concept paper of their MA thesis project. In the concept paper, students fully develop their topic, approach, methodology and work plan. The revised concept paper is the basis for supervisor agreement and thesis registration (“Disposition”).This course is mandatory for teaching students (Lehramtsstudium) as well. The language of the course is English.Participation by students enrolled in the phasing-out Master's programme ‘Geography: Global Change & Sustainability’ (Specialisation A) is highly recommended.
