Aims, contents and method of the course

The lecture provides a comprehensive overview of the principles of animal cognition. The main approach is to put cognition in relation to animal behavior and evolution. After a brief outline of the history I will present basic principles and main approaches to animal cognition. The lectures will continue with basic processes leading to animal perception, learning and memory from a biological point of view.
