Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The aim of the seminar is to train and improve the critical reading and discussion of literature. It shall prepare students at the master and PhD level for publically presenting their studies and for participating at conferences. A special focus is on formulating arguments and structuring different forms of discussions (open floor, attacker-defender etc.).
Assessment and permitted materials
Presence is obligatory; quality in participation, taking roles as discussant, presenter and chair
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Active participation in discussion, individual presentations of essential points of a paper and taking role as chair;
To pass the course, you must not be absent more than 2 times. The participation in the discussion is scored on a scale between 1-3; the presentation of essential points and the role as chair is scored on a scale from 1-5.
