Aims, contents and method of the course

Important quantitative methods in molecular biology, e.g.:
DNA sequencing and amplification
Mass spectometric methods
Array based methods

Basics in mathematics and bioinformatics, e.g.:
Measured data, precision, errors, graphical representation
Basic statistics and probabilistics
Analysis of temporal data

Assessment and permitted materials

Written exam.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Participants will be able to investigate biological questions using molecular biologic data sets using basic mathematical models and statistical methods.

Examination topics

Presentation and discussion of selected topics. Lecture in German with english materials.

Reading list

Will be provided electronically during the lecture.
