Frequently offered Office hours for Q&A will be announced in Moodle- also available on demand!The lecture is targeting all students who are interested in location based data, spatial analyses and mapping ( i.e. students from: Biology but also Computer Science , Landscape Planing and Geography.Content: This lecture will introduce students to GIS principles and the fundamental GIS concepts. The different topics include spatial data properties, spatial data models and data structures, data collection and transformation, data manipulation. The lecture aims to show the students the important role of Spatial Analysis in all the different fields of environmental analysis, landscape planing, conservation biology and accordingly its human dimension.GERMAN ONLY!
