Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Making measurements is a practical process and each time a step into the unknown, prone to the danger of making errors. Basic confidence in the correctness of a measurement can be gained by applying scientific principles, above all building a theory and defining methods to check it. This method of operation must be trained in practice and in real time to make it a matter of course. Therefore this lecture is designed as an interlocked sequence of basic electronics, numeric examples and practical work with electronic equipment. Active cooperation during the entire course is essential to meet the educational target because the goal is to practice immediate application of new knowledge and not its accumulation. To cooperate just in thought would be time lost. In this sense there is no learning matter outside this course. Electronics are especially well suited for the intended purpose. In case you decide to take the trouble of full cooperation you will get a feeling and understanding for correct measurement and casually also for electrical processes. Both is very useful in Neurobiology where small electrical signals are being measured with complex electronic equipment.
