Aims, contents and method of the course

Topics of this course are human evolution and animal domestication, animals in agriculture, animals as pets, animals as friends of the human, animal assisted therapy, psychological, social, evolutionary and medical aspects of the human -animal interaction

Assessment and permitted materials

Method of evaluation: mandatory lecture; written term paper; oral presentation.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

To get a broad overview about human- animal interactions in the past and present and the topic of Anthrozoology.

Examination topics

Seminar for students of anthropology and other fields; contents are the presentations of the participants; literature can be offered on request.
