Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction to diversity and phylogeny of vascular plants (Gymno- and Angiosperms) with special focus on Europe. Examples of evolutionary developments in plants in connection with life forms, reproduction modi (outcrossing/inbreeding/apomixis), nutrition related adaptations (carnivory, epiphytism, succulence, xeromorphoses) or metamorphoses, their analyses and interpretations.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Acquisition of knowledge of diversity and phylogeny of vascular plants as well as of various methods to study evolutionary processes
