Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This 3 hour lecture course introduces students to important concepts in ecology. Topics covered include biodiversity and its role for ecosystem functioning, trophic interactions (herbivory, detrivory, mutualism), meta-population and meta-community theory, disturbance ecology, succession, biogeochemistry and global nutrient cycles.
Language: German.

Lectures will take place as usual in the hall HS 2, unless actual situation may necessitate modifications. Talks will be recorded usieng the software function "Collaborate". These recordings as well as all slides will be made available to registered students. Accordingly, also students who do not wish to personally attend, will experience no disadvantage. Please note that the service u:stream is not available in the lecture hall H2. Changes in procedures may become necessary on very short notice, depending on the COVID-19 situation.
