Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This 3 hour lecture course introduces students to important concepts in ecology. Topics covered include biodiversity and its role for ecosystem functioning, trophic interactions (herbivory, detrivory, mutualism), meta-population and meta-community theory, disturbance ecology, succession, biogeochemistry and global nutrient cycles.All slides will be made available to registered students via Moodle. Please also note that procedures may need to be adapted on short notice, if required due to unforeseeable changes in COVID-19 regulations.

examination in writing, 7 (open) questions
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
7 questions need to be answered, each correct answer is worth 3 or 4 points.
Min. 12 points or 48 % of the max. points archivable must be scored to pass the exam.Grading scale: max. points archivable: 25;
25-22 excellent; 22-19: good; 18.5- 15.5: satisfactory; 15-12: sufficient; <12: insufficient.
