Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course deals with the basic and standard histological procedures. It starts with anaesthesia, fixation and embedding in paraffin and selected resins; followed by sectioning (thin and semi thin), mounting the sections on slides and different staining methods. Most emphasis is layed on practicle work. A second part of the course shows ways of documentation of the histological preparations like digital photomicrography using also corresponding software (e.g. Photoshop/Photopaint) and/or 3D-reconstruction of serial sections. Finally there will be a PowerPoint presentation of the results and a conclusion in form of a short paper.
