Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction to methods of scientific illustrations using didactical concepts. The student is able to produce scientific illustrations ready for publication.

Assessment and permitted materials

Complete set of figures from course objects to be presented: evaluation of gradual and qualitative skills; presentation and scientific-didactic interpretation of selected figures.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Complete set of required figures: 70%; technical and didactical value 30%. Positive credit from 51% onwards.

Examination topics

Search for principles of architecture of selected objects and their transformation into figures. Basal graphical techniques, proportional transpositions, quality of figures in relation to technical requirements in printing; single and composite illustrations; gradual abstraction from nature; dynamic and static diagrams; textures and graphical letters; informative legends to figures.
