Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The lectures encompass questions on ecological and metabolic laws in freshwater communities. The course aims to show both the theoretical as well the empirical approach in macroecology.
The course topics includes: (a) scale-related contemporary ecological concepts, (b) theories on body-size related scaling laws, (c) food web concepts and theories and (d) metapopulation and metacommunity concepts.
