Introductory Meeting on March 45, 2021, at 18:00. Either in person in Ü6, Biozentrum Althanstrasse UZA1, or on-line via Big Blue Button. We will inform you in time and send you a mail.
The seminars and the practical research of heavy metal plants will take place in the rooms of the group Cell Imaging, Biozentrum Althanstrasse (Spange 4 Ebene 1). The course is partially blocked and will start end of April. It will start with two seminars, offers the possibility to participate in two 1-day excursions in Austria to areas contaminated by heavy metals, continue with 8 days of jands-on training in research of heavy metal plants in the labs of Cell Imaging. 3 seminars give info about the research and some soft skills. In a final seminar, the results will be presented to all participants, end of June or begin of July.- Thursday 01.07. 15:00 - 20:00 Hörsaal 2 UZA 1 Biozentrum 2.249 1.OG

The geophysical situation of the habitats and the specialized plants that have developed on these toxic soils will be discussed. Methods of analysis will be explained and applied individually.
The Project Practicum shall lead to a better understanding of the organisms' tolerance to toxic soil and their strategies of survival. This knowledge can be deepened and applied in practice within the scope of two one-day excursions to heavy metal habitats during the course.
