Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The limnology of athalassic (non marine) salt lakes is described. Detailed description and discussion of the geographic distribution, the abiotic factors, the organisms and their adaptation to high salinities and the biotic interactions is presented. Finally, some salt lakes are presented in detail as case studies.
