Wichtig: Diese Lehrveranstaltung wird von 22.02. bis 26.02.2021 als Blocklehrveranstaltung täglich von 9:00 bis 18:00 abgehalten. Die Termine im Vorlesungsverzeichnis gelten nur für die Vorlesungszeiten im Hörsaal. Die praktische Arbeit findet an den PCs im Seminarraum im Erdgeschoß statt.


Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In this project-orientated course, students learn the most important tools for the presentation of scientific (botanical) data (publication, poster, oral presentation).

Assessment and permitted materials

All presentations have to be submitted electronically to the learning platform Moodle on the last day of the course, (2) an oral presentation on the last day of the course, and (3) a short oral poster-presentation (date will be announced). Points 1 and 2 are the minimum requirements. Participation at all dates is mandatory.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Each student has to prepare a picture postcard (Adobe Photoshop), a poster and logo (Adobe Illustrator), a formatted illustrated text (MS Word) and a 10 mins - oral presentation (Power Point) on their (botanical) topic. Each presentation type should deal with a different aspect of the topic.

Examination topics

Computer programs used: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, MS Word and MS PowerPoint. This course provides the most important know-how of the various programs, as well as the principles for a good presentation.

Reading list

A pdf on the Moodle platform and internet research on the respective botanical topic, which will be assigned in the preliminary discussion.
