Aims, contents and method of the course

ATTENTION: all theoretical background is provided as online lectures within moodle! Please go through these lectures BEFOR the practical part starts on 2024-03-11

Concepts in GeoInformatics are discussed especiall in the context of Vegetation- and Landscape Ecology as well as Nature Conservation. The course is focused on working on Vector based Geodata with use of ESRI software package QGIS:
-Data Acquisition and Integration
-Catography
-Analyses of spatial data
-Database Management
-Open Data
-Open Source Software

Assessment and permitted materials

4 Exercises during course have to be uploaded to moodle in time and a quiz

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

All assignments have to be handed in and a minimum of 3 out of 4 must be evaluated as positiv to pass the whole course!
Additionally: exercises have to be submitted and at least 70% attendence to the online session plus participation in discussions
