Aims, contents and method of the course

The course provides an insighte into the exceptional high diversity of the Alps from an landscape, vegetational and conservational point of view. Daily exkursions will lead to representative parts of the northern, the central, and southern part of the Alps. A special highlight will be the field course in the Schalftal, one of the most extreme high alpine valleys.

The course aims for:
- What an ecologist should know about the Alps?
- What are the real environmental problems ?
- What are the methodological standards in vegetation ecology ?
- What are typical Alpine wines ?
