The lab course is partly blocked and will be given in the first half of the semester, each Tuesday and Thursday between 9 and 14 o'clock.
We plan to start on Tuesay, Oct 6, and end on Thursday, Nov 19, provided Corona allows that we come together in the laboratory.
The course will be given in the laboratories of the Core Facility Cell Imaging and Ultrastructure Research.

Assessment and permitted materials
Cooperation and written examination (30%) during the course, protocol (40%) and oral presentation during the final seminar (30%).
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Knowledge of the techniques and research fields of cell physiology as a basis for the understanding of the adaptation of cells to their ecologic situations.

- Analysis of the cell: light and electron microscopical methods
- Dynamics of the cytoplasm, of cells, of mitosis
- Detection and Identification of cytoplasmic structures:
immunofluorescence, organelle-specific dyes, micromanipulation
- Permeability of the plasma membrane
- Cell wall of plant cells: synthesis, structure and function
- The plant cell as osmotic system
- Stress tolerance of plant cells
In addition, pricnciples of scientific work and publication will be taught, especially also to support the production of Bachelor and Master Thesis.
