Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Research in biogeochemistry and ecosystem ecology requires the quantitative estimation of gross and net fluxes as well as of ecosystem pools at various scales. We will demonstrate a range of techniques, from classical analytical chemistry, to advanced chromatographic and isotopic techniques, and allow students to get hands-on training on state-of-the-art equipment.

Assessment and permitted materials

Performance Assessment:
1) Active participation in the laboratory work
2) Oral presentation of group work
3) Written report

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

This course will be graded according to the following:
1) Laboratory work (60 points)
2) Final presentation (20 points)
3) Written report (20 points)
More than half of the points are necessary to pass the course
