Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course consists of several lectures (given in German language) and a few excursions.
The lecture will deal with various aspects of mire hydrology, vegetation of mires, distribution of mires in Austria and elsewhere, conservation of mires and the importance of mires in regard to climate change.
The excursions will go to bogs and fens in Lower Austria.

Assessment and permitted materials

An examination has to be passed successfully without the use of any auxiliary means. Participation in 80% of all lectures AND on both excursions is obligatory.
Examination (lecture): written examination 11h June, oral examination according to agreement

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

For a positive completion it is neccessary to:
- pass the threshold of 60% in the written test
- be present at 80% of all lectures and excursions
- to write two protocols about the excursion

Examination topics

All contents of the lecture will be examined in the written test; contents discussed at the excursions shall be reproduced correctly in the protocols
