Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The seminar is suitable for beginners as well as for advanced students (starting a work in a lab within a practical course, scientific work or for a semester abroad). Students will get an overview of the principles of correct behavior in labs (including information about protective clothes, PPE - personal protective equipment and safety equipment in labs), the handling of hazardous materials and chemicals (storage, waste management, safety data sheets, hazard and precaution phrases) and learn how to react in case of emergency (first aid and fire prevention).

Assessment and permitted materials

Compulsory attendance: active participation has priority (40%), final examination (40%) and short presentation of 5-10 minutes (20%). Each part of the examination has to be passed positively.
