Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
The students are expected to submit a presentation on their project and a well described dataset containing the digitized specimen data. The third component consists of a written exam.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The final grade will be composed of three partial grades (numbers in brackets indicate the contribution to the total grade): Students will deliver a presentation about their actual re-organization project (40%). The dataset generated during the project work will be evaluated (40%). A written exam covering the content of the lectures (20%).
Examination topics
The written exam will cover all contents presented in the lecture sections of the course.

A reading list will be delivered at the beginning of the course.

In the practical part of the course, students will re-organize parts of a scientific specimen collection, digitize relevant specimen level data in standardized formats, and develop potential use cases for the collection. This will be the main part of the course, where the contents of the lectures will be translated into a real-world curation scenario.
