The lecture series provides information on basic and advanced concepts in hydrology and their ecological impact in running water ecology: structure and properties of water, open-channel flows, in-depth discussion of Reynold's number and its applications for the biota, sedimentology, flow resistance, erosion, sediment transport, organismic drift, longitudinal zonation concepts and the discussion of the hydrological cycle, including basic meteorological concepts.
Exam: written exam (1 hr), including three technical questions.
