Aims, contents and method of the course
This course treats the various sections of a publication in a scientific journal, the entire submission, review and publication process, provides tips on how to optimize oral presentations, and emphasizes a hands-on approach by working through and improving manuscripts submitted by the students. Awarded prize for innovative teaching by the University of Vienna.

Students are evaluated based on their oral participation in the class and on their written contributions (e.g. critiques of submitted texts, short ("journalistic") summary of a selected scientific paper). Minimum requirements: paricipation in the seminar, submission of at least two of the requested written contributions. The students have an opportunity to take an oral exam at the end of the semester to improve their grade.
