Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

During the bi-weekly meetings (see Moodle for seminars' schedule), the participants discuss current research topics in archaeal biology, biotechnology, environmental cell biology, evolutionary genomics, limnology, marine biology, prokaryotic physiology and systems biology. For each discipline, current research projects will be presented and discussed by members of the Department of Functional and Evolutionary Ecology, as well as Ecology and Ecosystem or Botany Master or PhD students. Each presentation will include state of research, hypotheses/open questions, methods, results and outlook. The objectives of the seminar are to practice scientific communication and discussion.

Assessment and permitted materials

Participation to all seminars is mandatory (1 absence is accepted). Moreover, Ecology and Ecosystem or Botany master students must either present their own research topic (Master or PhD work) or critically summarise two presentations of choice (1 page max per presentation). Finally, all participants must give their feedback to each presenter.
