Classes

Introductory lecture will take place on the 8th of March at 10 am. Due to the update covid-19 from the University of Vienna, the meeting will take place in person, in the Seminar Room 3.065.


Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The students will become familiar with the problem of plastics in the ocean and their colonization and utlizations by organisms. Samples for experiments will be collected and analyzed under controlled conditions in the lab. Practical work will be conducted in the water and the lab. The work will be done in groups.
The course takes place at the Ruder Boskovic Institute for Marine Research at Rovinj, Croatia (Giordano Paliaga 5, 52210 Rovinj) from 5th-16th September, 2022

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

postive exam of the lecture Meereskunde-Herndl
active participation during the course (40%) plus written protocol (60%): latest submission 4 weeks after end of the course
