Aims, contents and method of the course

The following items are subject of the lecture:
Overview of the anthropogenic impacts on waters; abiotic and biotic typology of water bodies; hydraulic engineering - river restoration / rehabilitation; waste water treatment; biological water quality; national and international legal regulations; wetlands; ecological status of Austrian waters; situation of groundwater in Austria.
Exam:
Written examination at the end of the semester.
