Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Mechanisms of cell growth and division have been mostly studied in model systems. In this lecture series, after recapitulating what we have learned from studying the reproduction of both eukaryotic, archaeal an bacterial models, I will present how non-model, often non-culturable cells - such as obligate symbionts - multiply.
The course is in English for Master and PhD students.

Assessment and permitted materials

Oral presentation of selected scientific papers and active participation.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Examination topics

Molecular mechanisms underlying growth and division of model and unconventional microorganisms.
