Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Based on theoretical and practical units, different methods regarding behavioural physiological research questions are presented (e.g., oestrous cycle monitoring, blood glucose measurements, measurements of oxygen consumption, body temperature measurements, hormone analyses, behavioural phenotyping, behavioural coding, statistical analyses). Several short data collections are carried out in small groups with subsequent statistical analysis of the data. The results of individual research questions should be presented orally (December 10) and as written report in the form of a Short Communication (until January 28).

Assessment and permitted materials

The course includes the following partial assessments:
Presence (obligatory because of data collections and analyses) and participation in the units (continuous assessment of course work/prüfungsimmanente Lehrveranstaltung), oral presentation (on December 10), written report as Short Communication (until January 28).

If the written report is assessed negatively and the assessment of the entire course is therefore negative, you will be given the opportunity to improve your report.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Presence and participation in the units (obligatory), oral presentation, written report as Short Communication.

Each part must be completed:
- Presence and participation in the units: max. 30 points
- Oral presentation: max. 30 points
- Short Communication (report): max. 40 points

88 – 100 points: Very good (1)
75 – 87 points: Good (2)
63 – 74 points: Satisfactory (3)
50 – 62 points: Adequate (4)
0 – 49 points: Unsatisfactory (5)
