Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Based on the curricula of the secondary level I and II, prospective biology teachers will gain profound knowledge about molecular biology topics and the school preparation of these topics by using different didactical methods.
In this course, the following topics are discussed, among others:
Scientific work, structure and function of DNA, gene expression, basics of heredity, human genetics, genetic engineering and genetic ethics, etc.

Assessment and permitted materials

The performance review is based on partial performances, which are composed as follows:
- Attendance and active participation
- Submission of work assignments
- Presentation of a scientific publication

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The course has an immanent examination character. Therefore, participation in the course is obligatory. A maximum of two seminar dates may be missed. All partial performances (various work assignments and presentation of a scientific publication) must be handed in on time and completed positively.
