Aims, contents and method of the course

After a short introduction in the ecology of the tropics selected ecosystems are treated. Special adaptations of organisms are presented and discussed from a synecological point of view. Currently, the lecture focuses on Tropical Islands (Chumbe near Zanzibar, Raja Ampat Islands, Galapagos).
