The course will probably take place May 9-20 in Villefranche. However, this is dependent on approval by the central government in Paris and of course of the Corona situation.
Premeeting and final admission takes place on March 10 at 11 am in SR 4.1 in the UBB.

Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
The students are expected to actively engage in the experiments and to submit a report summarizing all experiments and obtained data during the course.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The final grade will be composed of three partial grades: The student will give a seminar presentation about a selected topic in Vienna (25%). The performance of the student during the course is evaluated (25%). The student will write up a report (50%).
Examination topics
The seminar must give a proper overview on the given topic in a 10-20 min oral presentation. The report should have the format of a scientific paper and be written in English.
Reading list
The student is expected to read the relevant literature related to the topic of the course experiments. A minimal list will be provided at the beginning of the course.

Teaching is in English, since most instructors are not german speaking. As prerequisite, the student must have a basic knowledge in developmental biology and should (ideally) have accomplished the VO "Einführung in die Entwicklung der Tiere" or the VO "Molecular developmental biology" in the bachelor of Zoology or Molecular Biology tracks or the VO "Principles of Genetics and Development" of the Master Genetics and Developmental biology. The course is restricted to 10 students. The course is subsidized by the Faculty of Life Sciences. The student contribution for the course is 250 EUR per student, which includes the lab fee and the lodging at the Station.
