First meeting: March 4th, 2016 10:00 c.t. Seminarraum Limnologie.
The practicum will be held daily (from 09:00-17:00 hrs) from March 14th to March 18th, 2016. Attendance at the first meeting is compulsory - you may, however, send a representative.
Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The practicum will introduce students to digital illustration using the Adobe software family. Students will learn to digitally ink drawings or photographs using self-created tools, and prepare publishable figures. Focus will be on the development of skills necessary to produce illustrations depicting species-specific characters in a comparative setting, and highlight differences between species.
Assessment and permitted materials
Students will prepare ready-for-publication figures.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Participation in the course will provide the base necessary to produce high-quality digital illustrations.
Examination topics
Digital illustration will be practiced based on provided images. Students are encouraged to alternatively suggest their own projects, including the preparation of figures to be used in Bachelor or Master theses.
